Worthing & Adur Digital Forum

We are excited to announce that Worthing & Adur Chamber, Freedom Works & Barclays Eagle Labs have come together to launch the brand new Worthing & Adur Digital Forum. The idea was born from a passion to bring this ever-evolving sector together to share knowledge and learn from each other.

The first event starts with a bang! The three partners have curated a fantastic lineup of speakers which will be a panel of experts in all things AI. The three panellists will cover how you can use AI in your business, how AI can be used to save time and the risks, opportunities, threats and future of AI. The session will be facilitated by Catherine Howe, Chief Executive of Adur & Worthing Council who really gets the whole digital landscape.

The session will be run in the Auditorium at Worthing Library. We have 60 spaces available and this event will be a first come / first served basis - so, register today to reserve your space as entrance to this event will be limited!

• Michael Charles Borrelli, AI & Partners
  Michael is a highly experienced financial services professional with over 10 years of experience. He has held executive positions in compliance, regulation, management consulting and operations for institutional financial services firms, consulted for FCA-regulated firms on strategic planning, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. In 2020, Michael set-up the operations model and infrastructure for a cryptoasset exchange provider, and has been actively engaged in the Web 3.0 and AI communities over the last 4 years. He currently advises a host of AI, Web3, DLT and FinTech companies.
  
  
• Lee Davies, Fresh Egg
  Lee believes that technology has the ability to transform our lives. Lee has worked with numerous clients over the years exploring how technology can help improve processes and customer experience, and transform their industries.
  
  
• Sean Wilson, SimSage AI
  Sean Wilson is the Chief Executive and Co-Founder of SimSage (simsage.ai), a Cambridge-based company with an innovative AI-based Search Engine used by large Enterprise customers who are literally ‘Drowning in Data’. Sean is a New Zealander who came to the UK with his business partner five years ago, after successfully commercialising an earlier version of SimSage that was extensively used by NZ Government agencies, in favour of better-known, larger global brands. Sean has previous senior leadership experience in both the public sector and in multinational ICT firms, but has a particular passion for start-ups, several of which he has been directly or indirectly involved with, over the last 16 years. Sean holds an MBA from the University of Auckland.

Peer Mentoring taster session

What is Peer Mentoring? The Peer Mentoring Groups consist of 8-12 business owners from different business areas who are willing to learn from and support each other by sharing their expertise and varied skill sets in a confidential environment. All the programmes have at their core the concept of Action Learning – this is ‘learning by doing’, focusing on group members’ real business challenges and identifying practical actions they can take to solve them. An experienced facilitator guides the group and holds members accountable.

What are the benefits?

How will Peer Mentoring help me?
This programme is for business owners that are looking to grow and develop their business. The content of each meeting is determined exclusively by members themselves including the provision of 6 bespoke workshops as identified and requested by the group. Each member has two scheduled time-slots for introducing their business to the group and reviewing their progress as well as monthly opportunities to present a business challenge for Action Learning sessions. Groups meet for 3 hours once a month over the course of a year.

Another Chamber initiative to support you and your business! Since 2012, Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce has been offering highly successful peer-to-peer mentoring group programmes to over 60 members and is planning it’s next group.

Get walking! Now the weather is picking up, we are hosting another walk & talk event! Georgie Bond from Georgie Bond Coaching will be leading the walk, enabling us all to take sometime away from our desks with likeminded individuals.

We will be meeting at the Refreshment Rooms in High Salvington, walking up to Honeysuckle Lane, walking around the Honeysuckle Fields and part of the woods, heading back down to the Refreshment Rooms, where you will be able to purchase a drink.
